Season Greetings from the Supervisor

Robinson Township would like to give a very special THANK YOU to Don and Rosemary Gardner for their generous donation of the Robinson Lutheran Church bell. In the process of reroofing the Loving Hearts Little hands Child Care building (the old Robinson Lutheran Church), they had to remove the steeple and the bell had to come down. We feel honored to have received this historical piece of memorabilia. We would like to display it here in front of the Town Hall with a plaque describing its nostalgia. We are looking for volunteers to help us design and build a display. If you have any interest in helping, please contact the office. Thank you again Don and Rosemary!

Troubling times with State budget – Our State revenue sharing has been cut 25%, which is a lot for a township our size. This is a deep cut. We have taken many measures to stay within our budget, and your Township Board has been very mindful of unnecessary spending. For now our budget is sound as we continue to be thrifty. While providing quality core services to our residents, we may have to look at cuts in some difficult areas of our budget in the near future as this economic shortfall plays out. We are in hopes that, as the State’s economy rebounds, so will our local revenue sharing.

Remember to check out our website @ www.robinson-twp.org . All minutes are posted on the website, in full, after Board approval.

Participation in the spring and fall clean-up days has been very low. The Board is considering offering only one per year. Please cast your vote for your preference.

Ottawa County is awaiting results from a grant application for a cell tower in one of our dead zones (on 104th past Johnson) County is awaiting approval.

Here’s wishing you a Happy Holiday Season

Warm regards,
